Professional Beauty London

Having completed my basic manicure course recently with Nail Harmony, I decided to go visit Professional Beauty London Expo, where the whole beauty industry comes together. The show takes place over two days at ExCel London on 22 - 23 February. Boasting over 800 leading brands, Professional beauty brings all the latest innovations under one roof.

The journey up there took longer than I thought, via the A3 and through a number of London boroughs - which bought back memories of my junior designer days many moons ago. I decided to drive up as I suffer from M.E. and taking trains and tubes is just too exhausting for me. I also dragged my fiancĂ© along (bless him) and I'm glad I did, as lets just say the last 10 mins of the journey were pretty confusing,  I don't know if it was the SatNav or me (probably me!) but I'm certainly glad I had a co driver with me :-)

I didn't really know what to expect, I thought it might be lots of brands selling their products with lots of demonstrations but it didn't seem to be like that, however I didn't attend any of the seminars so I guess they could have been more demo heavy.  There are exhibitors for every avenue of beauty there from Tanning to to Skincare but my focus was of course on Nails and my main aim was to learn more about Gelish and to see what other  Gel brands were up to and how they compared. There is so much to see and take in that I didn't really get chance to do what I'd like to with a bored Paul following me round. However after queuing for quite a while, I did manage to spend a hell of a lot of money on Gelish products and booked onto a course on 2nd March, after which I sort of went into shock as I am so worried about not getting enough clients to justify the outlay. Anyway, I should have been in heaven, surrounded by nail polish upon nail polish but it was all a bit too overwhelming. I bought a few bottles of regular polish from Orly in colours

Jealous Much

Cupcake &

Gumdrop

They also popped into my bag a pack of nail files and a colour change gel polish for free!

I also bough three SoignĂ© colours in

Glacage Turquoise

Bleuet &

Bleu de Gex

I'll be swatching them, reviewing them or using them in my nail art soon I'm sure.

I also splashed out on a beautiful glittery box for taking with me when I do polish parties:

So overall definitely a must do experience which has been an education and I am looking forward to the next time.
